It all started a couple of years ago as an open mic night for new comics. But the night was often also attended by established acts, keen to try out new material in the relaxed atmosphere. Long Live Comedy soon gained a reputation as a great comedy gig. Now the venue has been rewarded by being selected as the best comedy night in the North by Chortle - the comedy news website.

Housed in a fantastic purpose built new venue on Leazes Lane, just off Percy Street, The Hyena is slap bang in the middle of Newcastle's City Centre.
With a large capacity and a late licence until 2 am, the Hyena Comedy Club is the ideal venue for both comedy lovers and all-round party people.
Doors open 6.00pm and close at 8.00pm ready for the show. The Hyena is also available for private hire.

Comedy Store from London will be doing monthly events at Gala Theatre & Cinema in Durham. Tickets are under £10 and can be found on the Gala website.
It's an improvisation comedy night and comes amidst rave reviews from the South.
